Blockchain-energy platform: Pulse
Architecting Chile’s First Blockchain-Powered Energy Traceability Ecosystem
Company
Pulse - Transelec - Phineal
Year
2020 - 2021
The Challenge
Transelec required a secure infrastructure to trace and monitor clean energy via blockchain. I was tasked with transforming this abstract technical concept into a functional ecosystem of nine products—ranging from complex data dashboards to VR maps—while ensuring technical feasibility for developers and clarity for non-technical stakeholders.
The Impact
From Concept to Ecosystem: Delivered 9 distinct, user-validated products that now serve as Chile's benchmark for energy traceability.
Operational Alignment: Resolved handoff friction by leading 8+ developer workshops, ensuring 100% implementation accuracy of the Figma prototypes.
Strategic Trust: Secured Transelec’s buy-in by transforming technical blockchain jargon into a transparent, visual narrative that business executives could trust.

The Process
1. Strategy & Research | 6 Months
Strategic Roadmapping: Defined development stages, facilitated stakeholder workshops, and managed client deliverables to align business goals with technical constraints.
Market Intelligence: Conducted international benchmarking and end-user surveys to identify industry standards and user expectations.
Foundational UX: Interviewed stakeholders to define client segments and developed User Personas.
Value Definition: Facilitated strategic meetings to establish the Lean Canvas and defined the visual direction for the ecosystem.
2. Iterative Design & Refinement | 7 Months
User-Centric Validation: Designed wireframes and conducted rigorous user testing to solidify the design system and UI style.
Information Architecture: Restructured the site map through card sorting, refining the navigation based on usability testing and stakeholder feedback.
Technical Translation: Created high-fidelity Figma prototypes for the core platform and sub-projects, focusing on simplifying technical language for non-expert users.
Engineering Collaboration: Partnered closely with developers to resolve implementation challenges and ensure design integrity.
3. Scaling Secondary Products | 5 Months
Ecosystem Expansion: Led the accelerated design of 6 secondary products, including a certification system, specialized dashboards, QR microsites, and a Virtual Reality energy map.
Rapid Research: Managed high-velocity design sprints involving comprehensive surveys, interviews, and iterative prototype testing.
High-Fidelity Delivery: Produced final, production-ready prototypes, ensuring a cohesive experience across all 9 products in the Pulse ecosystem.
